INTEGRATIONS/APIs

New Passkey Public APIs for Housing Reservations Management

  • The Passkey team is happy to announce 3 new Passkey Public APIs being added to the existing suite of Housing APIs available to customers and partners via Cvent's API Platform.

    • This release enables Create, Modify and Cancel actions for integrated partners connected via the Cvent API Platform.

    • The Reservation Management feature is the latest and most advanced functionality of the Cvent Passkey ("Housing") public API suite. The new APIs support all the legacy capabilities of the legacy "SOAP-based" RegLink APIs while adhering to the latest security and design standards, making API integrations with Passkey easier and more powerful than ever before.

  • With Passkey's Public APIs, customers and partners can now:

    • Establish a secure connection to Passkey Housing Events, reducing human factor errors.

    • Access event and inventory information as well as hotel and room details.

    • Create a unique hotel room reservation experience at various levels:

      • Basic: Pre-populate the Passkey booking site with attendee information.

      • Hybrid: Display available hotel rooms on your site and redirect the attendee to the Passkey Booking Site for final confirmation.

      • Complete: Manage Shopping and Reservation Confirmation experiences entirely from a custom external solution.

    • Synchronize data between systems using APIs and callback/webhook capabilities.

  • How do I learn more or get help?

All the latest specifications and instructions are available on the Cvent Developer Portal under the Housing section.

  • Expected Release Date: 24 July, 2024

REST API endpoint to fetch Event Weblinks (Default & Custom)

  • API Users will now be able to fetch all the weblinks present in an event. This will be made possible through our new REST API endpoint offering called "List event web links." This will be a GET endpoint that will allow users to fetch both default and custom-created web links in an event.

    • Things to Know :

      • The endpoint will be called "List event weblinks."

      • This will retrieve a paginated list of default and custom-created weblinks in an event.

      • This will also retrieve web links with associated custom domains as configured in the event.

      • The retrieved data would include the Name, URL, Landing Page, and Reference ID of the weblinks as created in the event.

      • The link for the Speaker Resource Center (SRC) Home will not be a part of the list of weblinks being fetched.

Detailed documentation for this REST API endpoint can be found on the Cvent Developer Portal under the "Events" section.

  • Expected Release Date: 24 July, 2024

Integration hub - Improved Authentication Flow with Cvent Authentication Injection

  • Currently, users setting up integrations (powered by Integration Hub) must re-enter Cvent credentials, even if they are already logged into the Cvent application, leading to an unnecessary additional step for users.

  • With this update, users are no longer required to re-enter their Cvent credentials during initial setup if they're already authenticated into the Cvent application. Cvent credentials will now be automatically injected during the setup process.

Note: This enhancement applies solely to the initial setup process. For subsequent authentication updates and while adding new authentication during the 'Customize' workflow, users will still need to provide Cvent credentials.

  • Expected Release Date: 24 July, 2024
