Top News: New and Improved Session Reporting and New Reporting Widget

The product team is working to deliver constant improvements that we know will improve your Cvent experience.

Reporting

  • NEW Event Insights: Session Overview

    • The Session Overview page is designed to get at-a-glance, easy-to-access insight into your session’s registration, attendance, and performance throughout the event workflows. Previously, you could only analyze the success of event sessions by continuously running various reports, as there is not enough data easily obtainable without significant effort. With the Session Overview page, you can now easily track and measure the performance of event sessions and the engagement and satisfaction of session attendees in each stage of the event lifecycle. The page is split into a few different sections highlighting different areas of session metrics, including:

      • The Session Enrollment section is built to help you track and analyze enrollment of the event sessions.

      • The Session Attendance section provides data to assist you in monitoring attendance for event sessions. It displays information on the average attendance across all sessions and for each individual session, categorized by attendance type - virtual or in-person. You can view the average attendance rate across all event sessions and the average number of sessions attended by each session registrant.

      • The Session Engagement feature enables you to understand the level of engagement your attendees have with the sessions, as well as assist them in pinpointing opportunities for enhancement.

      • The Speaker/Session Feedback sections have been designed to help you evaluate attendee satisfaction and gain valuable insights into session/speaker ratings and feedback response rates.

      You can filter the data from the Session Overview page or view corresponding event reports to find more granular data to meet your specific needs.

  • NEW Cvent Reporting Widget Panel

    • We’re thrilled to introduce Widget Panel for Cvent Reporting Framework's users. This feature empowers you to customize your reports with unparalleled flexibility and accessibility.

      • Easily add widgets defined for a single-page report via drag-and-drop or keyboard navigation, allowing you to tailor your reports precisely to your needs.

      • Accidentally remove a widget? No worries! Widgets and their configurations are stored in this session's “Recently Deleted” section, allowing you to restore up to your last five deleted widgets effortlessly.

      • Widgets are now neatly grouped by type (e.g., Summary, Charts, Grids) in the Widget Panel, presenting a clear and structured interface. Use the powerful search and filter options to find the perfect widget for your report.

      • Every component in the panel is meticulously designed to be keyboard accessible and compatible with screen readers, ensuring an inclusive and seamless experience for all users.

      • Beyond the Widget Panel, we’ve revamped the report header, filter panel, chart, and grid settings panel to use Carina components. This enhances the aesthetic appeal and guarantees an accessible and unified user experience, making reporting a breeze.

    • Expected Release Date: 25 October 2023.

SURVEYS

  • Answer Import for Event Surveys

    • Planners using Surveys Premium for gathering event feedback can now import answers to the survey questions on behalf of the attendees. This new import functionality allows planners to add attendees' answers if they have submitted the responses in physical format or through a 3rd party application.

      As part of this new functionality, there is now a Responses tab for surveys within the event for planners to view all responses without switching between Attendee List or Survey to review.

      To import answers to the event survey:

      • Navigate to Surveys > Responses.

      • Click on Responses, navigate to the Actions dropdown, and click on Import Answers to start the import.

      • Planners will be required to select the status for the imported answers and how they want to map the answers to the correct attendee, either by email address or response code.

    • Expected Release Date: 25 October, 2023

Integrations

  • REST API POST endpoint for Create Transactions

    • The new Create Transactions API endpoint will allow developers to create an offline transaction on an attendee's record. This will ensure that transactions are marked as paid and eliminate any outstanding balance.

    • Documentation about the endpoint can be viewed on the Cvent Developer Portal under the "Events" section.

    • Limitations:

      • Payments can only be posted through this endpoint for transactions used to pay the total amount due for the attendee, as the endpoint will automatically calculate the payment amount based on the remaining amount due. The endpoint does not currently support posting transactions meant to be done in partial payments.
