New REST API Endpoints for Updating Budget Allocations
We have introduced two new endpoints that let developers update or delete an allocation cost amount or percentage for budget items in an event. Allocations allow users to understand which budget item amounts are associated with certain allocation categories/subcategories or GL Codes. For example, the Marketing and Sales departments are each associated with 50% of the cost of the budget item "meeting venue." The divided allocation value lets the internal financial team know where to bill departmental charges based on the actual costs of the finalized meeting venue.
For reference on how allocations are used within budget items today, please refer to this Cvent community article for how to set up and use budget allocations.
Additional Details
The new endpoints are called "Update Budget Allocations" and "Delete Budget Allocations."
Developers can also adjust or remove the allocation notes for each allocation within the budget item.
Custom Widgets SDK: Read and observe responses to contact fields, CCFs, and registration questions
With this release, we are introducing additional methods to the Custom Widgets SDK, enabling developers to build custom widgets that read and observe invitee responses to contact fields, custom contact fields, and registration questions. This enhancement allows for creating custom widgets that can dynamically respond to registration form inputs, resulting in a more tailored user experience for invitees. For instance, a developer could build a custom widget that recommends specific sessions for an invitee based on their answers to registration questions. This custom widget would utilize the new SDK methods and include a site editor interface for planners to configure the desired event-specific logic for recommending sessions.
Note that technical resources are required to build custom widgets.
Developers can reference the documentation for Custom Widgets on Cvent's Developer Portal.
