Attendee Engagement Releases for 12 July 2023

Our Attendee Engagement-related product teams have been hard at work building new features for July. Our top release is a game changer if you use video subtitles or want to easily make your video content more accessible.

  • Video subtitles can now be generated/translated - Save time and money by auto-generating and auto-translating subtitles for recorded videos from within the Cvent - found on the video details page in Core and the Video Library. Also, generated or translated subtitles can be edited using the built in subtitle editor. Release date: 12 July 2023. 

PLUS 9 other product enhancements to make your job easier:

  • Discussion Game Challenges – Planners can now add game challenges and actions related to Discussions to encourage attendee engagement and networking. Once the game is live, Attendees will earn points upon completion of the discussions game actions enabled such as adding a photo in the feed, replay to a message, react to a discussion, or join a video discussion group, etc.  Expected Release date: 12 July 2023).

  • New click tracking report for Banners/Custom Cards – Planners now have the ability to report on click tracking for banners and custom cards in both Attendee Hub and Event App, including total clicks, unique clicks, and data based on unique placement. Expected Release date: now expected 2 August 2023 (delayed for original launch date).

  • URLs managed like Pages – Planners will have more flexibility as URLs will now be treated like pages in Attendee Hub. URLs will be added once, in a central location, where Planners can choose to display them on BOTH Home or More and apply audience segments to create personalized experiences for attendees to increase engagement. Expected Release date: now expected 2 August 2023. 2023  (delayed from original date).

  • Content tagging for Sessions on the Web available – Planners can now create tags to help categorize sessions. Tags will display from the Attendee Hub web app, both on list and detailed session views. Tags can be used to filter the All-Sessions page so attendees can easily refine their search. Expected Release date: 12 July 2023.    

  • Session Custom Fields Display on Session Detail – In Event app, Planners will be able to display their existing Session Custom Field values on the Session Detail screen under "About this Session". Session Custom Fields are already supported within Sessions Filters to help Attendees locate sessions quickly and efficiently — displaying these on the corresponding Session Details will help attendees to further understand why they are interested in a particular session.  Expected Release date: 2 August 2023  (delayed from original launch).

  • Video Chapters & Chapter Editing Added – Within Cvent Video Library, we’ve released a new Chapter editor for working with videos. This editor allows planners and event marketers to create chapters and highlight key moments in the video to guide viewers. Chapters are available for playback anywhere the Cvent Video Player appears - both in Attendee Hub and in Video Center. Expected Release date:  12 July 2023. 

  • Report List Redesign Phase 1 Coming - We’re making it easier to access your most important reports and event data with a few interface changes such as standardizing evert report names, descriptions, and updating the navigation – like collapsing categories not often used. Improvements will benefit Event Management, Appointments, Passkey, CSN, Surveys, etc. Expected Release Date: first phase 6 July 2023.

  • Magic Links in Emails - Magic Links allow for streamlined login/immediate AH authentication from emails. Magic Links benefit both attendees and planners by creating a fast and frictionless login experience, which can increase event satisfaction and attendance. Planners can simplify the login process by adding the Attendee Auto-Login widget or Magic Link data tags to their post-registration emails. Expected Release Date: 14 June 2023

  • Webinar Description Enhancement - Marketers can now create more compelling webinar descriptions through the addition of a rich text editor. The description is the leading way registrants learn about a webinar, and a nicely formatted description can improve registration. Expected Release Date: 12 July 2023 (delayed from original launch date).
