Cvent Salesforce App v8.11
Custom Field Mapping Redesign
Salesforce admins at organizations with large numbers of Cvent custom fields were unable to open the Custom Field mapping modal due to Salesforce's 6MB heap memory limit. Accounts with many multi-choice fields — particularly those with exception status above the standard 150-field limit — exceeded that ceiling, causing the modal to fail silently with no error feedback.
New: Custom Field Filtering in Admin Configuration
Admins can now pre-select which Cvent custom fields are eligible to sync from the Admin Configuration page — similar to existing event status filtering. When specific fields are selected, only those fields participate in the retrieve process. If none are selected, all fields sync by default, preserving existing behavior.
Before: Clicking "Retrieve Custom Fields" triggered a single synchronous call that loaded all field data — including every choice option for every multi-choice field — into Salesforce memory at once. Large datasets caused the modal to crash.
After: The retrieval process has been optimized to fetch only the data needed at each step, keeping responses well within Salesforce's limits.
Backward compatibility: Customers on older versions of the app are unaffected — the prior retrieve process continues as-is. The new behavior activates upon upgrading to v8.11. A package upgrade is required to utilize the new pre-selected custom fields retrieval process.
NPI Field Added to Attendee Sync
The National Provider Identifier (NPI) field is now included in the attendee sync flow. It syncs to the Attendee Temp record and is available for field mapping.
Event Recommendations Feature Removed
The Event Recommendations feature has been removed from the Cvent Salesforce App. The corresponding setting in Cvent that enabled this feature has also been removed.
Admins on older versions of the app who had the Event Recommendations widget enabled will see no events appearing in that widget. Upgrading to v8.11 removes the widget entirely.
