Top News: Site Designer Container Widgets and more

The product team has 3 big improvements they're working to deliver in this window that we know you’re going to love:

  1. Container Widgets in Site Designer

Container widgets allow for a new way to arrange widgets. They hold other site designer elements and can be moved and customized as one unit, similar to sections. This is a useful tool for copying sections of a website, building your site, and keeping widgets together when the site rearranges for mobile view.

Container widgets are found under the Structure & Organization section of the site designer's build panel. Once you add one to your canvas, you can populate it with other widgets by dragging and dropping them directly into the container. There can be multiple containers in one section, multiple widgets in one container, and even multiple layers of containers. You can add container-level styling in addition to existing widget-level customizations.

  2. Code Widgets in the Email Designer

You will be able to add code widgets to your emails, so you can add custom code alongside regular designer widgets. This will allow for more control over the design of emails. A few examples where you can use code widgets are to add tables or side by side images for your sponsors or social media. The email code widget looks and behaves similar to the site designer code widget, but only supports HTML and CSS.

You no longer have to choose between build mode widgets and using custom code, now both can be used in the same email.

  3. Hotel Request Widget Room Rates & Availability -

Room Rates & Availability table on hotel request widget is designed to give invitees a comprehensive view of room pricing & availability. The new table provides visibility on individual price per night for each room type(s), allowing a clear understanding of the cost breakdown while interacting with the Hotel request widget. By default, the chart will be visible on Hotel request widget however, if this doesn’t align with specific event needs, planners have the freedom to disable this using a new toggle on Site Designer

    Real-Time Availability:
Securing the right accommodation is crucial for invitees registering for an event. With the Room rates & availability table, invitees will have real-time availability of each room type. No more back-and-forth and the most up-to-date information will be at their disposal.

    Requires Approval:
In situations where specific nights require a planner’s approval, the chart prominently highlights nights that need special approval, ensuring your invitees stay in the know about critical considerations.

    Dynamic Pricing:
While we understand all events are not the same, the chart dynamically adjusts prices based on different room occupancy configurations. This functionality takes into account varying needs and ensures the correct price per night is displayed as per occupants per room. Example: For instance, a single room night with $100 fee per night will be displayed as $50 when it’s configured to be shared by 2 occupants.

3 additional improvements to make your job easier

If you thought the above items are exciting, wait until you see what else the team plans to release in the next launch window:

  • UTM Parameters Used to Assign Registration Types - This will allow you to have different attendee experiences based on where an attendee initiates registration.

  • Google Wallet Support for Cvent Events - With just a click from the confirmation email by the attendee, the pass is added to Google Wallet, ready for onsite check-in and expediting the onsite process.

  • Auto-Fill Group Member Information - Control if you want to auto-fill group member’s contact information from the address book by default.
