SPOTLIGHT: Dynamic Segments Creation
What is a Dynamic Segment?
Dynamic Segments are a powerful new enhancement to audience segmentation abilities, enabling organizers to create rules to automatically assign audience segments to attendees. Prior to this, segments were created manually. These new rules-based dynamic segments are available for events created on/after August 1, 2024.
Example: John Doe updates his title and reg type to “exhibitor,” which then meets the pre-configured criteria for the defined “Exhibitor” segment. After saving his registration, he is automatically added to that segment (or similarly disassociated from any segment he no longer qualifies for), ensuring he gets content, sessions, and push notifications specifically sent to the created Exhibitor segment.
Benefits: Event organizers can save time and eliminate errors by automatically assigning attendees to the right segments, using invitee and registrant criteria—no manual work needed. With rule-based automation, event planners ensure accuracy and control while reducing effort.
Planners can configure rules—with a limit of up to 5 rules/logic within a single segment—using the following criteria:
Attendee Demographics - contact and custom contact fields, excluding secure fields
Registration Details - Reg Type, Reg Path, Admission Items, Invite Lists, Invitee Status, Responded through, etc.
Session Participation - Registrants and Participants for specific sessions
