Spotlight: A New Way to Move Through Cvent: Faster Navigation for Your Everyday Work
Picture this: you log in to Cvent, and instead of hunting through menus or bouncing between “apps,” you’re back in your events, RFPs, and reports in just a couple of clicks. That’s exactly what the new navigation is designed to do.
We’ve rethought how you move through Cvent so it feels more natural, more focused, and much closer to the way you already work.
What’s the new experience like?
The first thing you’ll notice is a clean, left-hand navigation that stays with you as you move through Cvent.
Your navigation lives on the side, not across the top, giving you more vertical space for the work that matters—event details, RFP lists, dashboards, and more.
The layout will feel familiar if you use other modern SaaS tools, so it’s easier for both new and existing users to get oriented quickly.
As you click into different areas, the navigation remains consistent, so you don’t feel like you’re “switching products” every time you change tasks.
It’s the same power you’re used to—just easier to reach.
Before vs. after: how your day changes
Here’s a simple “before and after” view of what this means in real life.
Before:
You start in one part of Cvent, then use an app switcher or multiple menus to find what you need.
Reports, events, and RFPs might sit under different labels, so you pause to remember where each thing lives.
Search is one place, your recent work is another, and getting back into an in-progress event or report can take more clicks than it should.
After:
A single, left-hand global navigation guides you wherever you need to go.
Top-level sections are grouped around your workflows, not product names, so the path from “log in” to “doing” is much shorter.
Search and Recent Items come together in one place, making it easy to jump back into that event, RFP, or report you were working on—without retracing your steps.
The goal: fewer decisions about “where to click next,” more time actually moving your programs forward.
How we organized the new navigation
Instead of organizing Cvent around internal product labels, the new navigation is structured around what you’re trying to accomplish.
You’ll see clear, intuitive sections such as:
Events – your home base for event-centric work, including events, webinars, meeting requests, and related views.
Suppliers – where you manage RFPs, supplier relationships, and sourcing-related reports.
Insights – a focused space for program-level analytics and reporting.
Contacts – address books and related contact-management tools grouped together.
Library – templates and reusable assets (from files and media to event and email templates) in one dedicated home.
More – a space for less frequently used or legacy capabilities that you still need access to but don’t use every day.
This structure reflects how planners, marketers, and supplier teams actually move through their work, rather than how features happen to be packaged behind the scenes.
Little details that make a big difference
Beyond the big structural changes, there are a few touches you’ll likely feel right away:
You scroll less because more of your workspace is visible at once.
You restart faster when you return from a meeting or break, since your recent work is just a click away.
You explain less when onboarding new teammates, because the layout and labels feel more intuitive from day one.
In short, the navigation gets out of your way so you can focus on building great experiences.
Try it and see how it changes your day
When you see the “Try the new navigation” banner in your account:
Click to try and spend a day working as you normally would.
Pay attention to how quickly you can get back into your most-used areas.
Share what feels smoother (and what still feels clunky) with your team so they can explore it too.
The new navigation is all about making everyday work in Cvent feel lighter, faster, and more intuitive—so you can spend less time finding things and more time creating exceptional experiences.
