Cvent Essentials and Webinar
Waitlist
Expected Release: July 22, 2026
Cvent Essentials and Webinars now includes a built-in Waitlist feature, giving organizers a structured way to capture and manage attendee interest when an event reaches capacity.
What’s Changed:
Waitlist setting in Registration Settings: Organizers can enable a waitlist per event via Registration → Registration Settings → Waitlist Settings (off by default).
Automatic waitlist form at capacity: Once full, the Register button becomes "Add to Waitlist" and attendees can join with their name and email.
Waitlisted attendees in the attendee list: Waitlisted attendees appear under a Waitlist status, with counts and filters showing Registered vs. Waitlisted at a glance.
Manual promotion: Organizers can register waitlisted attendees directly from the attendee panel or actions menu.
Automatic confirmation emails: Attendees receive a waitlist confirmation on joining and a registration confirmation upon promotion.
Benefits:
Waitlist eliminates the need for manual tracking through email or spreadsheets when a limited-capacity event fills up. Organizers gain full visibility into overflow demand directly within the attendee list and can act on cancellations or capacity increases quickly — ensuring open spots are filled with interested attendees and no demand goes unnoticed.
