Events+
Event Calendar Improvements - Standalone, Embedded Widgets, and Access Portal
What's Changed: We've greatly simplified the event calendar theming, added default layouts, and included a calendar preview. Additionally, attendees and Access Portal users can now explore events much more easily with a new modern interface. Registration and website information are now visible at a glance, and users can quickly navigate to additional events.
Benefit: We have enhanced and modernized the event calendar experience throughout the platform, making it easier for administrators to set up and create streamlined interactions.
OnArrival
OnArrival (iOS) - Generate Team Member Login Links
OnArrival iOS App Version 4.13
This feature allows both OnArrival Cvent users and team members to create login links or QR codes for existing team members directly within the OnArrival app.
Currently, it is only available for iOS users (support for Android will be added later).
The feature is accessible 30 days before the event start date.
An internet connection is required.
OnArrival team members with the new "Team member details" permission (found in Event Management > OnArrival > Team Members) can now generate login links or QR codes on demand for existing team members, simplifying onboarding and reducing administrative workload.
Additionally, OnArrival Cvent users with "Read-Only" or "Full Access" permissions for the “Team member management” setting (found in User Roles within Admin under OnArrival) can generate login links for team members from OnArrival.
This update accelerates and simplifies on-site staff management in OnArrival — no IT support needed. Planners and onsite staff can generate login links or QR codes as needed and easily share them with team members, streamlining onboarding and minimizing administrative tasks. Removing access barriers encourages wider use of the OnArrival app and gives planners greater control to expand teams in real time as event requirements change.
Additional Team Member Updates
We’ve updated the team member permissions in Event Management > OnArrival > Team Members to give planners more flexibility and control. Planners can now easily set each team member’s access to attendee information with four distinct permission levels, ensuring the right people have the right access.
Additionally, we’re introducing a new search feature for the Team Member Access table. This improvement makes it faster and easier to find and manage team members, streamlining event operations.
OnArrival Android - Payments in Admin Mode
OnArrival Android App Version 1.38
With the latest update for OnArrival, we are adding payment support to the OnArrival Android app for the first time. Users will be able to accept payments for the total balance due in Admin Mode using the OnArrival payment reader, Tap to Pay, and manual credit card entry.
The OnArrival payment reader allows quick and secure transactions via Bluetooth, supporting Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) and contactless payments. As with our previous iOS release, the following requirements still apply:
The reader is only compatible with Cvent Payments accounts.
It is available for use in the United States only.
Optional items are not currently supported on Android devices.
This update also introduces Tap to Pay functionality, enabling users to accept contactless payments simply by tapping a credit card directly to their device — no additional hardware needed. This makes it easier than ever to collect outstanding balances on-site, providing a seamless experience for both attendees and event staff.
Additionally, Admin Mode now supports manual credit card entry and the ability to charge a card on file. These flexible options (also introduced earlier on iOS) help event staff process payments quickly, even without a reader, keeping check-in lines moving efficiently.
