Navigation Updates: More Control, Clearer Paths to Your Work

Expected Release Date: 10/07/2026

Getting around Cvent is about to feel more flexible. This update gives you more control over your navigation and makes it easier to move between finding something new and returning to work you’ve already started.

What's Changed:

• A collapsible left rail: Choose the navigation view that works best for you. Keep the rail expanded when you want labels and context, or collapse it to create more room for your workspace.

• Search and Recent Items are now separate: Go directly to Search when you’re looking for something, or open Recent Items when you want to pick up where you left off. Each destination has a clearer purpose, so it’s easier to find the right path.

Your core workflows remain in place. This update changes how you move through Cvent, not the work you do once you get there.

Benefits: 

• More workspace: Collapse the rail when you want to keep your focus on the page.

• More control: Expand or collapse navigation based on how you work.

• Clearer wayfinding: Search and Recent Items each have their own entry point.

• Less hunting: Move from discovery to action, or return to recent work, with a more straightforward navigation experience.

When you compare venue proposals, the total matters—but so does what makes up that total. Starting October 7, 2026, Cvent makes it easier to understand guest room costs with a clearer fee breakdown in both the proposal download and bid comparison report.

What's Changed:

Both reports now include three additional line items:

• Total Room Rate: The sum of all individual guest room nights, excluding fees and taxes.

• Total Resort Fee

• Total Housekeeping Fee

The existing Total Guest Room Cost remains available and now reflects the full breakdown: Total Room Rate + Total Resort Fee + Total Housekeeping Fee.

Benefits: 

• Compare proposals with more clarity: See how each property’s guest room cost is composed.

• Spot fee differences sooner: Identify when resort or housekeeping fees are included, waived, or listed separately.

• Support more informed decisions: Review venue proposals on a more consistent basis.

• Reduce follow-up: Get the cost details you need directly in the download and report.

This update is available to all planners. No action is required to access the updated proposal downloads or bid comparison reports.
