Plan & Promote News for 21 August 2024
Summer might be winding down, but our product updates are not! We have some BIG updates coming your way soon
Top News: Registration Setup Page, Event Ads, and more
The product team has 3 big improvements they're working to deliver in this window that we know you’re going to love:
Registration Setup - We are excited to introduce a streamlined registration setup experience with the new Registration Overview Setup page on Cvent. This update includes intuitive cards that simplify the event registration setup process from start to finish.
Previously, navigating multiple interfaces to configure registration settings and visualize setups was challenging. The Registration Overview page now centralizes all essential tools, guiding you through each step of the setup process with clarity and ease.
The Registration Overview Setup tab serves as the central hub for managing event registrations. It offers quick access to essential settings, ensuring you can effortlessly configure registration details to align perfectly with your event needs.
Visualization and Easy Event Setup
Earlier, the structure of the registration flow was difficult to understand. The new widgets provide clear visual representations, allowing you to quickly grasp the event's setup.
Whether creating new items for Admission Items and Registration Types or modifying existing ones, the process is now straightforward and easily adjustable.
Clear Navigation through Registration Features
Effortlessly navigate through Registration Settings, Registration Paths, Admission Items, and Registration Types and directly access relevant setup pages from one convenient dashboard.
Integrated Marketing Tools
Easily manage event marketing directly from the Registration Overview page.
From managing invitations to leveraging web links and embedded registration options, streamline your event promotion efforts without switching between multiple interfaces.
Simplified Testing and Launch
Ensure a smooth event launch with integrated testing capabilities directly from the Registration Overview page. Quickly validate your setup and confidently launch your event with minimal effort.
Additional Notes
The Registration Overview page has two tabs: Setup and Insights. Before launching registration, the page defaults to the Setup tab. After registration is launched, clicking on Registration Overview will automatically open the Insights tab.
Event Ads with Exhibitor Management - With Event Ads, you will have a much more powerful tool to help promote and market an event's sponsors. Event Ads introduce a scalable way to show advertisements across your event, starting in Attendee Hub and Event App, with opportunities to expand to other aspects of their event where attendees interact.
This feature includes an ad designer to create ads, an ad library to view and organize an event's ads, an algorithm to place the ads in Attendee Hub and Event App, and reports to gain insights on ad impressions and clicks.

Cookie Banner Enhancements - Event and Attendee Hub - Previously, only Cvent's Privacy Policy was available in the cookie banner. Now, the Event Management and Attendee Hub Cookie banner supports displaying both Cvent's and your organization’s Cookie Lists and Privacy Policies. This update allows website visitors to easily access and review the list of cookies being collected without needing to contact you or support teams for more information.
You can continue to manage cookie banner settings from Event Settings > Privacy section.
Once enabled, visitors will see new links to access Cvent's list of essential cookies as well as your Cookie Lists and Privacy Policies. These links will also be accessible when customizing Cookie preferences, with the option to accept only essential cookies.
2 additional improvements to make your job easier
If you thought the above items are exciting, wait until you see what else the team plans to release in the next launch window:
List Unsubscribe Details Report for eMarketing - You will now be able to view which campaign members have unsubscribed from a Campaign. Planners can keep track of everyone who has decided that they do not receive emails from a particular campaign through a consolidated report. This report can be found under eMarketing > Reports > List Unsubscribe Details
Turkey Updated to Türkiye - Cvent is updating the official country spelling of Turkey to Türkiye across our platform.
As a global company committed to adhering to international standards and regulations, this change aligns with the International Standard Organization’s (ISO) guidelines for country names, ensuring consistency and accuracy in our system. The ISO, an international non-governmental organization that sets global standards, mandates this update to reflect the official naming convention of Türkiye.
This change does not affect any functionality. It is purely a naming convention update to comply with international standards. The REST object definitions and country codes have not changed. However, clients using the Cvent REST API will see different values for the country if users or attendees have selected them in the product
