      Undoing Session Cancellation

What's Changed: We're excited to announce that you can now restore a canceled session directly from the session details page. We know that session management is an important part of a successful event and that canceled sessions can have a cascading impact on event goals.

Benefit: Previously, if a session was accidentally canceled, you had to contact support to get the session manually restored. This took valuable time, and pending refunds were often on the line. Now, we're giving control back to the planners - for 24 hours after cancellation; you can restore your own canceled sessions.

How do I restore a canceled session?

If it's within 24 hours of when the session was canceled, you will see an "Undo Cancellation" option in the session's action dropdown.

If the session was canceled more than 24 hours ago, the action will be grayed out.

When you confirm the initial session cancellation, this 24-hour grace period is mentioned. If the session has a fee, they'll also see a warning about refunds.

Why is it limited to 24 hours after session cancellation?

After 24 hours, refunds begin to process. At this point, you would need to contact support to restore the session and understand that refunds will have already been issued.

What happens when a session is restored?

The session will be added back to the original registrant's agendas. When first restored, it will be marked as "closed for registration" by default. You should review the session and add any associated items like speakers and documents before reopening it for registration (if needed).

Email Address Verification for updates done via Rest API

What's Changed: This enhancement further strengthens account security and mitigates phishing risks for users created or updated through Rest API integrations. This release also enhances the email address verification process that was previously announced here.

When creating or updating a user via the Rest API, the user will be marked as unverified. A verification email will then be sent to the specified email address, and a notification email will also be sent to the old email address.

Users must click the email verification link to confirm their address. Unverified users will be restricted from accessing the account.

Administrators can manually resend the verification emails through user management.

      Benefits:

      • Enhanced Account Security: Protects against unauthorized access and phishing attacks.

      • Improved Data Integrity: Ensures accurate and valid email addresses.

      • Reduced Risk of Phishing: Mitigates the potential for malicious attacks.
