Passkey: Advanced Guarantee Type Rules
A Guarantee Policy in Passkey refers to the rules that determine how Guarantee Types are applied to reservations within an event. Traditionally, Guarantee Types are applied solely based on the reservation's Attendee Type. However, with the new advanced Guarantee Policy, which is targeted for the second half of 2025, we plan to introduce a more flexible "Guarantee Rules" system that allows event organizers to apply Guarantee Types based on multiple criteria, including:
By Attendee Type (existing functionality)
By Hotel
By a combination of Attendee Type and Hotel
This new system will enable the creation of multiple Guarantee Type rules that map specific Guarantee Types to any valid combination of Attendee Types and Hotels. Note: A default rule must always be defined to apply when no other rules match. The new Advanced Guarantee Type Rules will decouple the Guarantee Policy from Attendee Type Set-up, and the benefits of these new advanced guarantee type rules will include:
Increased Flexibility: Event organizers can tailor guarantee policies more precisely to their business needs by considering both attendee types and hotel attributes, rather than just attendee types alone.
Rule Priority Configuration: Organizers can set rule precedence to resolve conflicts when a reservation matches multiple rules (e.g., whether Attendee Type or Hotel takes priority).
Complex Rule Combinations: The system supports rules for single or multiple attendee types, single or multiple hotels, or combinations thereof, allowing granular control.
Simplified User Interface Options: Users can toggle the rules configuration interface to simplify the UI if multi-dimensional rules are not needed, choosing between attendee-only, hotel-only, or combined rules.
Automated Rule Management: For scenarios like Auto Block requests, the system can automatically create and manage Guarantee Rules dynamically based on incoming requests.
Improved Event-Level Management: Changes to Attendee Types and Guarantee Types at the event level are better managed with the new rules, including migration from the old model to the new rules model.
Conflict Avoidance: The system can enforce specificity in rule definitions to avoid conflicts, improving reliability and predictability of guarantee application.
Overall, the advanced Guarantee Policy rules will provide event organizers with a powerful and flexible way to manage guarantee requirements tailored to complex event scenarios involving multiple attendee types and hotel.
