Jifflenow: Time-based Filter for Multi-Room Calendar
Users are struggling to quickly identify available rooms for a specific date and time within the multi-room calendar. The current design requires manually scanning through multiple locations and scrolling across hours, which is inefficient and frustrating, especially during live event moments when immediate room assignment is critical (e.g., walk-ins at the front desk).
Proposed Solution
Introducing a new “Availability Filter” in the multi-room master calendar to help users quickly surface rooms that are free during a specific time range.
Key Highlights
Filter by Specific Time Range:
Users can enter a single "From" and "To" time window to find available rooms on a selected date.
Time pickers will default to 15-minute intervals, but allow typing of any valid time.
Sticky Filter:
The selected filter will persist as users navigate away and return to the calendar, eliminating the need to re-enter criteria.
Zero Results Handling:
When no rooms match the filter criteria, display a consistent message:
“0 results found” (same behavior as current search).
Works Across All Location Types:
Availability filtering will apply to Rooms, Booth Tours, and Offsite locations, and respects selections in the “Show Location Type” filter.
Fully Compatible with Existing Filters:
The new availability filter will work in conjunction with all existing filters (e.g., Engagement Type, Location Type).
UX Parity with Other Modules:
Filter behavior (time input, validation, formatting) will match the Location Availability component used in Engagement Type Settings.
