Create webinar and essential event manually from Meeting Request

We’re adding greater flexibility to the Meeting Request Form experience by enabling manual event creation for Webinar, Essentials, along with existing Standard events. This enhancement supports organizations that require review and approval before deciding if — and what type of — event should be created.

Instead of automatically generating an event at submission, requests can now move through configured review and approval process. Once validated, a designated user(Administrator, Non Administrators, Webinar and Essential Users) can manually choose the appropriate event type based on the account/user access, request details, business needs, and organizational policies within cvent application.

This approach gives organizations better control over event intake, ensuring that events are only created after proper validation — reducing premature creation and maintaining compliance with internal processes.

For meeting requesters, this ensures their submissions are reviewed and routed correctly without triggering unnecessary events.

For administrators and planning teams, it provides stronger governance, clearer oversight, and the flexibility to determine the right event format at the right time.

How It Works

1. MRF Submission
A Meeting Request Form is submitted, but no event is created automatically.

2. Workflow-Based Processing
The request progresses through configured workflow steps such as review, approval, or validation to confirm readiness for creation.

3. Manual Creation
Once approved, a designated user (Planner, Approver, or Assigned Owner) within app.cvent.com can create an event directly from the Meeting Request by selecting:

• Standard Event

• Webinar

• Essentials Event

This option is available only while no event is yet linked to the request and is Account/User Access driven.

This enhancement is a key step toward more flexible, workflow-driven meeting management, balancing automation with the control organizations need for compliant and scalable event operations.
