Cvent IQ Skills: Bring Cvent workflows into Claude

    STAGE: Development
    TABLE OF CONTENTS:

Cvent IQ Skills brings Cvent into the AI workflows event teams already use. Instead of switching between an AI assistant and Cvent to answer a registrant question or make a routine event change, teams can describe the task in Claude and use Cvent data and workflows in context.

Cvent IQ Skills combines a Cvent plugin for Claude with hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and pre-built skills. The tools return focused, job-oriented results rather than raw endpoint data. The skills guide Claude through complete Cvent workflows—so it can follow the right sequence, apply event-specific context, and pause for human input when needed.

      What event teams can do

The first wave of skills is designed for common event jobs, including:

      • Create Essentials events

      • Search venues and create requests for proposal (RFPs)

      • Manage attendees and answer registration questions

      • Live Event Monitoring

      • Event Insight
Ask questions about your event performance
Check registration pacing and audience composition
Create event and session performance briefings

      Built for Cvent workflows

Cvent IQ Skills brings Cvent's event expertise into the AI workflow—not just a connection to data. Cvent spans the event lifecycle across more than 8 million events, with historical benchmarks from 34,000+ customers and a supplier network of 340,000+ venues. That context can help Claude return more useful event answers and support sourcing workflows.

      Permission-aware, with customer control

      • Customers connect their Cvent account to the Claude plugin through OAuth.

      • Every action runs with the user's Cvent role and event-level permissions. Claude can access only what that user can access in Cvent.

      • Customer administrators control whether the connector is enabled and the allowed autonomy range.

      • Changes follow safeguards and request confirmation when needed; a skill cannot do more than the user could do in Cvent.

      • AI-assisted outputs are labeled. Customer data is used to do the customer's work and is not used to train public AI models. Cvent's SOC 2 security posture also covers the AI layer.
