Data Privacy Templates for Standard Events

We are adding the ability to apply Data Privacy templates to Standard Events so administrators can define privacy and security policies once, and have every new standard event automatically inherit the right settings without relying on event planners to configure them correctly each time.

These templates are shared across Essentials, Webinars and Standard events.

What you will be able to do

For Standard Events, administrators will be able to:

• Create account-level Data Privacy templates that bundle key settings like privacy policy links, cookie notifications, “do not sell or share” controls, and authentication options.

• Target templates by event metadata (event type and custom event fields) so the right privacy configuration is automatically applied when a standard event is created, whether from a new event, a copied event, or an event template.

• Lock policy-critical fields so event planners see which template is applied but cannot accidentally weaken required privacy and security settings; designated administrators can still override on specific events when needed.

Event planners benefit from clear, preconfigured privacy defaults: instead of deciding which checkboxes to tick for every event, they inherit the correct organization-approved configuration automatically.

Data Privacy templates are designed to:

• Reduce compliance risk by enforcing consistent cookie banners, consent flows, and “do not sell or share” behavior across all standard events, aligned with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA and your internal policies.

• Lower planner burden and errors by replacing one-off per-event configuration with guardrailed defaults that “just work” for each program, region, or audience.

• Give administrators and leaders confidence that as your event program scales, every new standard event launches with the right privacy posture by design, not by exception.
