OnArrival Kiosk Closed for Android
Expected: December 2026
Overview
Kiosk Closed is coming to OnArrival on Android, matching the experience already available on iOS. Planners can mark a kiosk as closed with a standard or custom message when it isn't in use, such as during breaks, between sessions or after registration ends. Attendees see only the closed message, and the device stays locked in kiosk mode, so staff don't need to exit kiosk mode or leave a device unattended in admin mode.
How it works
From the kiosk, tap Admin, then Mark kiosk as closed and enter the password (or app PIN for SSO users).
Choose a standard message (Kiosk Closed, Registration Closed, Check-In Closed or Session Closed) or add your own custom message of up to 100 characters.
The closed screen shows the message on the blurred kiosk background, with Admin and Privacy Policy still available.
To reopen, tap Admin, then Open kiosk. The kiosk returns to its home screen without relaunching kiosk mode.
Key Benefits
Parity across devices. Events running a mix of iOS and Android kiosks get the same closed experience on every device.
Control over when kiosks are open. Staff can pause self check-in during breaks, between sessions or overnight, and the closed state holds even if the app is restarted.
A clear message for attendees. A dedicated closed screen, with standard or custom wording, tells attendees when check-in isn't available.
