      Competitive Set Manager

      Expected Release Date: 07/08/2026

What's Changed: We’re introducing a new in-app Competitive Set Manager in Venue Management so you can create and update competitive sets without relying on a separate upload workflow. The new experience gives you guided setup, built-in validation, and venue suggestions to help you build compliant competitive sets more easily. You can access the Competitive Set Manager from Venue Management on the target venue’s profile.

This update is most relevant for property users, venue admins, and above-property users who manage competitive sets for venues with access to competitive set reporting and related planner intelligence tools.

      With this update, you can:

      • Create and edit competitive sets directly from the target venue’s profile in Venue Management

      • See real-time validation and inline alerts before saving, so issues can be addressed immediately

      • Get suggested venues based on overlap to help build a more relevant competitive set faster

      • View existing competitive sets in the same manager for future updates

A few important experience changes are also included:

      • If you save a competitive set with fewer than 9 manually selected venues, we’ll add 2 anonymous Cvent-selected venues to help complete the set

      • Once saved, a competitive set will be locked for 6 months

      • Updates to an existing competitive set are limited to once every 6 months, and each edit must include at least 2 changes

      • Newly saved competitive sets become visible in products the next day

Benefit: This update makes competitive set management faster, clearer, and easier to maintain over time. Instead of piecing together updates manually, you’ll have a guided in-product experience that helps you build more relevant sets.

You’ll get advance notice if an existing competitive set needs updates and have time to make changes yourself before automated remediation applies.

At launch, we’ll audit existing competitive sets and notify you if action is needed. You’ll have a 60-day grace period after the initial audit to make updates manually. Ongoing audits will happen every 180 days and include a 14-day grace period. If no action is taken, we may make the minimum updates needed to bring the set back into compliance.
