Cvent Event Integration Suite for LinkedIn:

Event Sync and Registration Sync for LinkedIn

      Release Date: Available TODAY

Cvent Event Sync and Registration Sync for LinkedIn lets planners promote events on LinkedIn without duplicating work — by creating and maintaining a LinkedIn Event directly from Cvent. For Cvent Webinar and Cvent Essentials events, it also captures registrations completed on LinkedIn and syncs them back to Cvent, keeping attendee data centralized for follow-up, reporting, and attribution.

Qualifications: Cvent Event Registration, Cvent Webinar, and Cvent Essentials customers.

What do you need to know?

These features deliver two tightly integrated capabilities, released together as a single end-to-end solution:

      1. Event Sync — Create a LinkedIn Event from your Cvent event and keep core details automatically in sync.

      2. Registration Sync — For Cvent Webinar and Cvent Essentials events, registrations submitted on LinkedIn are automatically synced back into Cvent as attendee records.

Together, they close the loop: publish once in Cvent, promote on LinkedIn, and watch registrations flow back — no manual exports, no re-keying, and no attribution gaps.

      What's included

LinkedIn Event Sync (Any event type)

      • One-click LinkedIn Event creation from within your Cvent event (Event > Integrations > LinkedIn). Cvent automatically creates a LinkedIn Event using your existing event details — no duplicate data entry.

      • Supported event types: Cvent Event Registration (Standard Events), Cvent Webinar, and Cvent Essentials.

      • Automatic field sync: Event name, date/time, timezone, description, event image, format (in-person/virtual/hybrid), venue/address, and registration URL are mapped from Cvent to LinkedIn. Cvent is the source of truth.

      • Ongoing sync: When supported fields are updated in Cvent, the LinkedIn Event is updated automatically — no manual maintenance required.

      • Boost Your Event: After your LinkedIn Event is created, a "Boost Your Event" button appears in Cvent, taking you directly to LinkedIn's paid event promotion workflow.

      • Reference ID tracking: Cvent automatically appends a Reference ID to the registration or event website URL synced to LinkedIn, enabling attribution reporting for traffic and registrations driven by the LinkedIn Event page.

      • Delete/reset: If a LinkedIn Event was created in error, planners can delete it from Cvent, removing it from LinkedIn and resetting the integration.

LinkedIn Registration Sync (Cvent Webinar and Essentials only)

      • Automatic registration sync: When a LinkedIn member registers via the LinkedIn Event registration form, their record is created or updated in Cvent in near real time — no manual import required.

      • Deduplication: Incoming registrations are matched to existing Cvent contacts by email. Matches update the existing record; unmatched registrations create a new contact.

      • Attribution tagging: LinkedIn-sourced registrations are tagged with Responded Through = LinkedIn Registration Form, making attribution quick and easy in the Registrants report.

These releases are part of the broader Cvent Event Integration Suite for LinkedIn, which also includes the Cvent Audience Connector for LinkedIn. Learn more about the partnership at cvent.com/linkedin.

      Cvent Salesforce App v8.12

      Release Date: Available TODAY

Salesforce authentication app now included in the package

Salesforce has introduced new security requirements for the apps that integrations use to authenticate to a Salesforce org (External Client Apps). These requirements include PKCE, refresh-token rotation, a 30-day idle token expiry, and IP allowlisting for token requests.

To meet these requirements, the authentication app Cvent uses to connect to your Salesforce org, Cvent Integration, must now be installed in your org as part of the Cvent Salesforce App managed package. Previously, it was hosted centrally by Cvent and did not appear in your org.

What this app is used for

The Cvent Integration app is the authentication method Cvent uses to connect to Salesforce via the Salesforce OAuth connection in Cvent Admin (Admin > Integrations > Integration Apps > Salesforce OAuth). This connection enables real-time attendee sync and other Cvent-to-Salesforce features. It is separate from the "Cvent SFDC" External Client App that the package already creates in your org for Metadata API access; that app remains unchanged.

      Before:

Cvent authenticated to your org using a centrally hosted app. No installation was required in your org.

      After (v8.12):

The Cvent Integration External Client App is installed in your org as part of the package. After upgrading, you will see it under Setup > External Client App Manager and in the installed package contents. It is a hidden, installed app; there is nothing to configure.

      Who needs to upgrade

      • Required: any account that wants to set up a new Salesforce OAuth connection in Cvent Admin. New OAuth connections fail until v8.12 is installed in the target org. This includes accounts that have never set up Salesforce OAuth before, regardless of which app version they are on.

      • Recommended for everyone else: existing Salesforce OAuth connections continue to work today. Salesforce required partners to enable these controls by May 11, 2026, and Cvent has done so. Salesforce has not published a date by which existing customer connections must move to the packaged app, but we recommend upgrading to v8.12 now to avoid disruption as enforcement tightens.

      What you need to do

Install or upgrade to v8.12. No additional configuration is required in Salesforce or in Cvent.

Cvent Salesforce App and Salesforce OAuth setup are moving to the Integration Apps page

      Release Date: Effective TODAY

      What's changing

To make the Integration Apps page the single place to set up and manage integrations, two Salesforce setup experiences in Cvent Admin are being moved there:

      Setup page

      Before (through Nov 3)

      After (Nov 4)

Salesforce OAuth (connection used by Cvent Salesforce App features, including custom field sync, webhooks, CID, and real-time attendee sync)

Admin > Integrations > Push API Integrations

Admin > Integrations > Integration Apps > Salesforce OAuth tile

Cvent Salesforce App setup (app configuration list and new-config form)

Its own Salesforce App page under Admin > Integrations

Admin > Integrations > Integration Apps > Cvent Salesforce App tile

      • A banner on the old locations directs users to Integration Apps. Existing configurations and OAuth connections carry over as-is; no re-authentication or re-creation is needed.

      • This is front-end only. There are no back-end changes, and the Salesforce App or OAuth connection behaves the same way, including sandbox org connections.

Push API Integrations is not going away yet.

Webhooks remain on the Push API Integrations page; moving them to Integration Apps is a separate project with no near-term timeline.

      Eloqua is also moving.

The rebuilt Eloqua connector will be released to Integration Apps on Nov 4 for new Eloqua customers only. Existing Eloqua customers will continue to see Eloqua in Push API Integrations until they are migrated; that migration is coming and will be announced separately.

      Who this affects

Cvent account admins who configure the Cvent Salesforce App or its Salesforce OAuth connection, and the internal teams who guide them (Support, CS, SSI, Sales Engineering).
