Abandoned Registration Data Purge for Archived Events

Expected Release Date: 30th September, 2026

To improve platform performance and ensure responsible data management, Cvent will automatically purge abandoned registration data for archived events.

Cvent will begin purging data from the Abandoned Registration Details report for archived events. Once an event reaches archived status, any associated abandoned registration records will be removed from the system.
This change is part of Cvent's ongoing commitment to data hygiene, compliance, and platform performance. Abandoned registration data for archived events is no longer actionable — archived events are closed, and no further follow-up actions (such as sending emails or registering attendees) can be taken on those records.
Before this change: Abandoned registration data was retained indefinitely, even after an event was archived.
After this change: Abandoned registration data will be automatically purged when an event is archived.

This change affects all Cvent customers who use the Abandoned Registration Details report within their events.

What are the most important things to know about this release?

• Abandoned registration data for archived events will be purged automatically as part of the archival process.

• This data is not recoverable once purged — we recommend exporting any abandoned registration data you wish to retain before archiving your event.

• This change does not affect abandoned registration data for active (non-archived) events.

• The existing 30-day purge setting in CVII (which can be enabled per account) remains available and is unaffected by this change.
