Group Registration: Add Multiple Members Post-Registration & Pay Once
This enhancement simplifies group registration management by enabling group leaders to add multiple members post-registration and complete payment in a single transaction. Previously, group leaders could only add one member at a time, creating unnecessary friction and the need for multiple transactions.
With this update, group leaders gain greater autonomy to manage their teams efficiently and deliver a smoother, more scalable registration experience.
Group leaders can now add multiple group members in a single post-registration session and pay for all new registrations at once – reducing steps and saving time.
Our registration system enforces group member capacity limits set on registration path level, ensuring compliance with event policies.
All group leader actions related to adding and paying for new group members are logged for planner transparency.
Key Benefits
Consolidated payments for multiple registrations minimize transaction fees and administrative overhead.
Faster, more intuitive process for group leaders to add and pay for new members.
Some example use cases
Corporate Training Event: A company’s HR manager registers their team for a training seminar. After the initial registration, they realize two more employees need to attend. Using the new feature, the HR manager adds both employees at once and pays for their registrations in a single transaction, saving time and effort.
Sports Tournament Registration: A coach registers their team for a tournament. Midway through the registration period, a few more players join the team. The coach can now add all new players in one session and pay for them together, rather than repeating the process for each individual.
Academic Conference: A university department head registers a group of students for a conference. As more students express interest, the department head can add them in bulk and handle payment in one step, ensuring the group stays within the allowed capacity.
How to Use
No set-up or configuration required - the feature will automatically apply to both existing and new events.
Cvent Payments Expansion to Europe
In this release, we will expand Cvent Payments (CP) internationally to Europe. Customers who have a business address and bank account in designated European countries will now be able to create a Cvent Payments account to process payments in their events and receive payouts to their European-based merchant account.
For reference to Cvent Payments and its evolution from legacy CPS, see the original launch post.
Supported Countries
Europe: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
North America: Canada, United States
UI Setup Changes
In addition to the United States and Canada, customers will now have the option to choose a supported European country as their country of business.
For businesses in Europe, customers can select to receive their payouts in either GBP or EUR (one settlement currency per CP account).
Note: To receive payouts in GBP, the bank account must be located in the United Kingdom or Gibraltar.
VAT ID (optional; required if the customer needs their VAT ID displayed on their CP Billing Statement for tax filing).
Refer to the Cvent Community for requirements on what is needed to onboard a CP account.
Transition Information from CPS to CP
On October 1, customers can begin setting up their Europe-based Cvent Payments accounts. Starting on October 31, legacy CPS merchant accounts in Europe can no longer be selected for new events. Any existing launched events using legacy CPS for payment processing will continue to function as normal until the registration closes. Customers should reach out to their Account Manager for more details on the migration.
REST API GET Endpoint for User Groups
This allows developers to retrieve information about User Groups using a new GET REST API endpoint. The new endpoint is the beginning of enhancements that will allow developers to manipulate User Groups via REST.
The GET endpoint will allow developers to:
Retrieve all user groups associated with an account.
Begin transitioning integrations from SOAP to REST for User Group management.
Detailed documentation for this REST API endpoint can be found here on the Cvent Developer Portal
