Overview Screen Redesign

STAGE: Recently Released
PROJECTED DONE:

A visual refresh of planner facing screens, including an updated navigation bar, is coming soon to OnArrival. This redesign brings UI changes to the iOS OnArrival app to allow users to quickly accomplish actions onsite more efficiently.

The Tab Bar

The most noticeable change is the introduction of a tab bar. This tab bar allows quick access to essential features of the OnArrival app. You will find four main tabs:

  1. Event/Session Tab – This tab serves provides quick actions and event/session information.

  2. Scan Tab – This tab serves as the central hub for scanning attendees through the device camera.

  3. Attendees Tab – This tab shows the list of attendees with the ability to search, sort, and filter. Tapping an attendee will go to the attendee details with even more information.

  4. Stats Tab – This tab serves as a space dedicated to visualizing event or session data through informative charts.

1. Event/Session Home Tab

The Event/Session Home Tab serves as the central hub onsite for an event or session. At the top of the event screen is a "Select Session" button to navigate to a session from an event, and on the session screen, a "Switch Session" button to navigate to a different session once already in a session.

Whether an event or a session, you will find the following cards:

  • Event/Session Details - The top card displays essential information, including the event or session name, dates, times, and open/closed status for sessions.

  • Check-in progress- The second card presents real-time check-in statistics, complete with a progress bar. If a capacity is set, that will also appear on this card. For hybrid events, users can swipe to access in-person, virtual, and total attendee counts.

  • Connected Devices - For users with a connected printer or scanner, a card will appear with the connection status of connected devices. If there are any errors, this card will jump to the top of the screen.

  • Quick Actions - The last section of the Event/Session tab shows quick actions that may be helpful.

    • Launch Kiosk Mode: This prominent blue button is available on tablets for events utilizing OnArrival Premium. When tapped, users are presented with the option to launch Kiosk Mode or QuickScan.

    • Go to Settings: This button is available before the event or session, allowing users to navigate to Settings for making adjustments as required.

    • Set Device Name: Prior to the event, the "Set Device Name" option reminds users to specify a device name, which leads to better check-in analytics post-event.

    • Register an Attendee: This button is accessible at the event level, allowing you to register new attendees for your event. It won't appear for individual sessions.

    • NFC to check-in - For NFC events, a button is available to begin scanning NFC badges.

    • Sync Now: To ensure the device is up-to-date, users can quickly sync changes outside of the automatic 10 minute sync cycle by tapping "Sync Now" directly on this screen. Underneath Sync Now shows the time of last sync.

  • Check-In Banner - Following attendee check-in, a temporary banner appears at the top of the screen, offering options to view attendee details or undo the check-in on the Home and Scan tabs.

  • Event/Session Details - Just like the Home tab, the top card displays essential information, including the event or session name, dates, times, and open/closed status for sessions.

  • Check-in progress- The second card presents real-time check-in statistics, complete with a progress bar. If a capacity is set, that will also appear on this card.

  • NFC to check-in - For NFC events, a button for NFC check-ins is available to begin scanning NFC badges.

Other Notable Changes

Once locking the device by choosing "Lock Device" in the overflow menu, the tab bar disappears, and quick actions for scanning attendees or viewing the attendee list (if privileges are granted) are presented. Unlocking is achieved by selecting "Unlock" and entering the password.

  • Remote Print - The previous location for remote print was a button on the overview screen, but has now been relocated to the hamburger menu.
